A2: My students engage with the content in various ways. I love to use technology, when applicable, and have students complete tasks through various apps such as @Flipgrid, @padlet, and @ChatterPixIt! #ECTEACHES

A6: As a new teacher myself, I would love any advice from anyone. I think keeping an open mind and staying positive is always a good tip to keep in mind. #ECTEACHES

@Miss_Weeks19 I also had this problem student teaching! One method I used was station rotation where I was with one group at a time to provide more structured and tailored instruction

A3: I find it challenging to keep all of the students together. The kids all learn at different paces and some need more time to think about what they want to say or discuss. #ECTEACHES

Does anyone have good activites for the beginning of the year to help students learn more about each other and become more comfortable? #ECTEACHES

A5: Getting to know your students and create a classroom of respect and rapport helps the students feel safe. This will help the class feel more comfortable when participating. #ECTEACHES

A4: Some tech tools that I love to use are @nearpod & @PearDeck They’re interactive ppts where students can anonymously submit their responses to the class. I find that some students are more willing get to contribute and take risks if their name stays out of it! #ECTEACHES

A4 part: My school uses “hero tickets” the students can earn when they are engaged and participating as well as for good behavior which seems to help motivate my class. #ECTEACHES
English

A4: I always find talking with other teachers about different resources helps me think of new ideas. #ECTEACHES

@miss_youngr1 I agree! Especially when you have to keep to a strict time schedule!

@shannonhmize In my elementary classroom, my co-op and I have given play-dough to our students to fidget with while we are having a teacher-directed lesson.

A3: it’s tough to keep things engaging all the time esp when the content is dry or requires lecture. #ECTEACHES
English

@MissWilkinson06 I agree! I think it’s important to find that balance between different types of learning activities for all learners.
English

A3: The biggest challenge I have is that every student is different. Some students enjoy competition and are engaged with games, but others would be more engaged completing a writing activity. It can be hard to balance everyone's needs #ECTEACHES
