The collects for Good Friday remind us of our frailty. There is little we can do except beg God to look at us with eyes of mercy and grace. And yet, His promises are in the victory already won for us on the Cross. In Christ, we are already His family, known and loved, and saved.

The Litany is appointed to be said on Fridays throughout the year. On Good Friday in particular the Litany offers us words with which to pray when we might feel we have none of our own. “By thine Agony and bloody Sweat; by thy Cross and Passion… Good Lord, deliver us”. Amen.
