After #Brampton's full ban of fireworks on residential property, #Mississauga is considering same. I don't understand this extreme a reaction to last fall, & certainly don't understand how this is primarily about the noise disturbance when there are more concerning noise issues.

@abdelahmed2014 Hmmmm....I can certainly see how Covid response was a surprise test run on control to certain bad actors. I was a Mississauga resident pushing for proactive bylaw enforcement for over a decade, and not alone. There was no consideration of it until now, post lockdown restrictions?

@paulmthibeault ...those drivers are not going to that parking lot to do all that, but being law-abiding to & from. What goes on in that parking lot is an e.g of what is happening in the community. It's not ppl being naughty& speeding - it's dangerous stunt driving through residential streets.

@paulmthibeault Bylaw should have gone after mall management/owner and threatened a major charge. It is up to the owner of a commercial property to maintain security, which is grossly lacking at that mall, period. However the cops can easily sit on roads and nail the drivers as they leave...

For those who missed this clip the first time, here is a typical weekend evening 10:00 to 3:00am at Westwood Square parking lot in Malton. There is housing all around it and thousands of people are unable to sleep. Clouds of dust and exhaust fill the air. It’s like a war zone.
