@OMissPearl @MissusTango @forbedding My experience has been that investing too much in the idea that a partner and I have to like the same stuff can blind me to differences in areas just as important. I fell in love with a man who never read (dyslexia) and it taught me that I just need a partner who is curious.

I've never found any of my partners in kink-specific spaces, but more vanilla geek/nerd spaces, like comic con or whatever, and that feels so much safer to me. I get to know them as people first, their vanilla and nerdy interests, our shared life passions... and THEN the kink.
