Mr Nelson Tugume and Inspire Africa Group sued over land grabbing.
Some residents of the area in Ntungamo where the heavily taxpayer funded Inspire Africa Coffee Park is located have run to court alleging land grabbing and seeking for billions in compensation from Mr Nelson Tugume and his outfit.
They say the road to the park was built on land which was grabbed from them with the help of the military and theyโve petitioned court seeking orders to essentially block the road to the factory unless theyโre compensated to the tune of UGX 2 Billion.
According to Mr Tugumeโs lawyer @Hmugashof1, to whom @PublicSquareEA reached out for comment, this is a greedy money grab.
He said: โThe claims arise from road expansion affected persons. We are engaging them. It is unfortunate they have rushed to court, which is okay.
We shall use that dispute resolution avenue to reach a just conclusion.
We await the report of a valuer for those not yet fully compensated.โ
We have since learnt that Mr Tugume and his team are currently engaged in frantic efforts to compensate some of these individuals.
A meeting is, apparently, slated for later today to try and find a harmonious solution.
According to one of the litigants, this meeting is intended โto scare these guys off the caseโ.
We shall bring you updates as and when we get them.
