Ugandan trained troops from CAR are excitedly received at Bangui International AirPort after the completion of their 12-months rigorous infantry training in Kaweweta, Nakaseke District. We salute the strong military cooperation between Uganda and CAR, the real essence of the pan-African spirit on the continent.
It is with deep sorrow that I announce the death of our brother Gen. Moses Ali. He died today at Nakasero Hospital, at 1600 hours. Gen Moses Ali has provided service to his country for a long time, as a soldier and a political leader.
In the West Nile region, he provided the good example of being a big modern farmer. We shall miss greatly his contribution. May the Almighty God rest his soul in eternal peace.
Today I had the pleasure of receiving Mr. Kenneth Asimwe, Chief Editor of 52 Dimensions Magazine and a steadfast supporter of PLU. He presented me with a remarkable publication chronicling @mkainerugaba General Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s journey of leadership in our gallant UPDF whose professionalism has safeguarded Uganda and contributed to regional stability in the true spirit of Pan-Africanism and patriotism. I was equally humbled to receive and wear the MK T-shirt. I encourage all comrades to read and reflect on this informative edition. It is a worthy contribution to understanding leadership, service, and national commitment. 🇺🇬 #UPDF#Patriotism#PanAfricanism#PLU@mkainerugaba@chairtoyota@PluMediaSEC@DaudiKabanda@HonTwallafadil@TodwongR@NRMOnline

Long live PLU.
President Museveni has told War College of Mali student officers that Africa’s prosperity depends on production, value addition, economic integration and stronger defence capabilities guided by Pan-Africanism.
Yesterday at State House Entebbe, I delivered a Lecture of Opportunity to student officers from the War College of Mali. I emphasised that Africa’s prosperity lies in production, value addition and expanding our markets through economic integration.
I also stressed that the continent must build the capacity to defend its interests on land, in the air, at sea and in space, while remaining committed to Pan-Africanism, patriotism and African solutions to African problems.
On my way to NALI Kyankwanzi where I was sent by the Chairman PLU @mkainerugaba to give a lecture to Ugandans who were repatriated from South Africa, I came a cross a very vibrant team of supporters of General MK who welcomed us with a big drive after which I had time and talked to them, they are interested and eagerly waiting to participate in the structures of the Patriotic League of Uganda.
General MK’s love is overwhelming around the entire Nation.

Important information!
To all our esteemed Local Government leaders -Chairpersons LC V, City Mayors, Division Mayors, Town Council Mayors, and Sub-County Chiefs:
I wish to share the guidance I received from the Chief of Defence Forces and Senior Presidential Adviser on Special Operations, General @mkainerugaba , on the importance of naming all our streets and roads in our Cities, Divisions, Municipalities, Town Councils, and other urban areas.
Proper naming of streets and roads will greatly assist in easy location, emergency response, security operations, service delivery, urban planning, investment, and other important national operations.
You are therefore directed to ensure that all streets and roads within your areas of jurisdiction are officially named by 30th August 2026.
In this important exercise, Local Governments should consider honouring distinguished personalities who have made significant contributions to Uganda, Africa, and humanity, including:
• Traditional rulers and cultural leaders
• Kings and eminent historical figures
• NRA liberation and resistance heroes
• UPDF heroes and distinguished national servants
• Former Presidents and national leaders
• Outstanding Ugandans in public service, education, science, business, sports, arts, culture, and community development.
All Local Governments should submit the approved list of names and Council resolutions to the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government, and ensure that the respective street name signs are installed before 5th September 2026.
Finally, let us continue keeping our Cities, Municipalities, Town Councils, and communities clean. A clean environment reflects good leadership, effective service delivery, and respect for our citizens.
Barugahara Balaam Ateenyi
Hon. Minister of Local Government
