The “juice” from government this week: 1. The Trade Ministry on Monday intervened to stop the planned increase in sachet and bottled water prices, with manufacturers later confirming the suspension after a stakeholder engagement. 2. On Wednesday, President Mahama established a Fiscal Council to strengthen economic governance and enforce fiscal discipline. 3. Also on Wednesday, the Ghana Statistical Service reported 7.5% year-on-year economic growth in January 2026. 4. On Thursday, Cabinet directed the Energy and Finance Ministries to suspend some fuel taxes and charges for the next two pricing windows to ease pump prices amid the US–Israel war on Iran. 5. Still on Thursday, the Health Ministry, in partnership with the Government of Barbados, opened recruitment for allied health professionals interested in working in Barbados. 6. Again on Thursday, the Transport Ministry was directed by Cabinet to expedite the rollout of 100 Metro Mass Transit buses on high-traffic routes and to ensure that fares on those routes remain lower than those of private operators. 7. On Friday, the Education Ministry opened its portal for recruitment of graduate teachers. 8. Also on Friday, the Communications Ministry launched the One Million Coders Programme, distributing laptops to 130 learning centres and universities nationwide. 9. Moodys on Friday upgraded Ghana’s economic outlook from “stable” to “positive,” citing improvements in the country’s fiscal position.

Since 2013, The Ghana Airports Company Limited has implemented bold plans to modernise the Accra International Airport and develop Regional Airports. This led to the construction of the 5-million-passenger-a- year Terminal 3 and the expansion and refurbishment of the arrival hall in Terminal 2. In addition to the construction of a concourse to link Terminals 2 and 3, which is set to begin shortly, work had begun in late 2024 to further expand the arrival hall in Terminal 2. In 2025, the scope of works was expanded to include the departure hall which had not seen any renovation for over 20 years, and the entire frontage of Terminal 2 to give it a new look. This has now become a much wider scope to comprehensively address moving not only regional airlines but some international airlines from Terminal 3 to Terminal 2 for decongestion during peak travel hours when passenger volumes are quite high resulting in long queues. Accordingly the works for Terminal 2 is ongoing and are scheduled to be completed within this year. This what Terminal 2 will look like when work is completed.

Dear X, In 2017, when many were afraid to speak for the NDC after the massive 2016 election defeat, a few of us stood up and filled the gap. I was on TV and radio, sometimes 3 times a day. I was on the floor of Parliament as part of a paltry 106 against the NPP's 169. I made sure my voice was heard! Today, I see the slicing and reposting of old videos to set an agenda. I smile and say, "I have paid my dues." You may think you are cooking, but with each video you post, you show the stripes on my shoulder as I fought to bring my party - the NDC - to power. I stood for something I believed in - the return of JM. When former Ministers refused to speak and defend, I did, and I have ABSOLUTELY no regrets. So, dig deeper, you will find 10,000s of videos of me toiling either on the screens or in Parliament. Today, JM is back in power with an even bigger victory than we lost in 2016. We have almost 190 MPs in Parliament. I paid my due, and I hold my head high. Now ask yourself, what have you stood for or achieved? If you think my hustle is simple, like we say on the streets, do make we see! The fact that I have chosen peace does not mean that I am asleep. You think you are agenda-ing, you are simply writing my political memoirs, and I am reading with delight at the testimony of the work we did and achieved. This one is a #TuffSeed. Go and ask your predecessors and be told! Nothing you say about me today is new and has not been told to me before. And oh, let me add the emojis. 🦁🇬🇭 #EyesFixedOnThePrize #LionBorn #HyeWonHye #ThatWhichFireCannotBurn

@gemini_dna Of course the party supported him to be where he's today so who do u expecting to pay his allegiance to and by extension the NDC as a party pays it's allegiance to the country and serves in the interest of the country so your call 4 his dismissal is absurd.

For those who are wondering if we have moved on from here, here is your Answer. NO! we haven't, what the minister outlined in his write-up tells the public the his first allegiance is to his party. That alone is grounds enough for dismissal. As someone who holds public office your first allegiance should be to your country.
