Something that always surprises me about working in the Rust world is how similar the mindset is across totally different engineers. The people who choose Rust usually just… care more. About how things are built. About ownership. About not shipping something that’s going to come back and bite them later. You can feel it in hiring straight away. The best Rust engineers don’t rush. They talk about trade-offs. They think about what breaks. They try to get things right the first time. Most stacks let you move fast and fix it later. Rust seems to attract people who would rather slow down and do it properly. It’s probably why Rust hiring feels so different to anything else I've worked on.
