Parents, we need to talk about Flock Safety cameras. This system does more than look for stolen cars - it constructs a blueprint of your daily travels & associations. Think about your child's day: the exact time they arrive at school, who drops them off, whether they walk alone, who picks them up, when, & their after school trips to gymnastics, cheer, karate, etc. Ask yourself: Are you comfortable with a system that logs and tracks these patterns? I didn’t think so. Call your local representatives today and demand they come down.

My FGC hot take- you have the 3s & MvC2 era and the peak SF4 & UMVC2 era. And there's this shitty SF5 SF6 era we are in now. I truly think, patching and updating the game turned off players. We were better off when you let the players cook.

ICE, CBP, and DHS all pulling data from city contracts without explicit authorization. the LAPD didn't cancel for one reason. they cited a pattern. 30 cities have now canceled Flock contracts. Cambridge. Santa Cruz. Eugene. Flagstaff. now Los Angeles. Flock's CEO called the opposition a coordinated attack from groups who want to defund the police. the LAPD is not a defund-the-police organization. Flock has not responded to the LAPD's specific concerns. the cameras are still up in Los Angeles. the contract is just gone. the data collected under the old contract still exists. Flock has not said what happens to it.

The surveillance state isn't inevitable. It advances when people are apathetic. It retreats when people fight back. Public pressure works. Keep pushing.

You have no idea what you are talking about. There's a difference between Capcom being partially funded by the Saudi government and the Saudi government having full controlling shares of SNK. The Saudi government has no creative control over anything Capcom or Nintendo makes, because they are passive investors. Capcom could literally make a game where the Prophet Muhammad gets fisted by Adolf Hitler, and the Saudi government could do literally nothing about it besides sell their shares to someone else.

the number of people who don't understand that GDQ sponsorships go directly into GDQ's business accounts to directly pay employees is astonishing. they act like GDQ denied charity from the Saudi government by not taking the SNK deal. no, they took a financial hit as an org.

Reading the responses to this here vs on BSky is one of those things that shows you the most clearly how ignorant and depraved the overall user base of this website is I hope one day fighting games and the community can exist with the same moral clarity as speedrunning does

After this and them cancelling the Florida event because of political reasons (which I did agree with, but it still left us Floridian fans out in the cold and felt like an insult to protest in that manner) are becoming reasons why I am just no longer interested in GDQ as an event

The whole SGDQ / AGDQ thing with SNK left such a bad taste in my mouth like, I don't even care if you want to work with SNK or not and I get the Saudi Money is icky, but the pure hypocrisy of pretending they didn't know better and turning a blind eye to other companies is bogus
