Whether as a joke or cruise, never identify yourself as a “finished man” or wear any tag that diminishes and disrespects your office as a man and husband. Unfortunately, most of you men, in a bid to buy social media validation, and sometimes free Punas have completely surrendered to the whims and caprices of modern women, so much so that you now use dërogatory terms like “finished men” to describe yourselves. As simple as such tags sound on the surface, deep down lies a form of social engineering aimed at domesticating and emasculàting men. Being a responsible husband is enough; anything beyond that can pass for manipulation. Unfortunately, most of you, in a bid to prove that you are supermen, have quietly and unconsciously dropped your sceptres on the laps of your wives. What most of you young men don’t understand is that, most times, even the least among women is a significant power player, and you think that power play at home is a joke? The power dynamics in most young marriages tend to shift within the first 5–10 years, it can be so subtle that, in many cases, men willingly and unconsciously give up their authority, all in a bid to overprove themselves. Fifteen years from now, a lot of you clowns will wake up one morning and realise that you’ve become ceremonial heads in your own homes. Your words will no longer hold weight with your wives and children, and you’ll begin to wonder what went wrong. People react to situations the way they are. How you respond to events, especially on impulse, is who you are at your core. Forget about all the “What ifs”; there’s always a valid reason for bad behaviour, but that doesn’t make it right.

If someone is accused today of being a killer, a thief, or a monster, and tomorrow it is proven beyond doubt that the person is innocent, many people will still cling to the lie.
