Andor is a quintessential midwit left/liberal fantasy. There is actually very little depiction of exploitation and suffering of normal people in daily life by the Empire outside of "authoritarian cruelty" in very specialized condition isolated from most society (like the prison episodes). Most characters seem to be content with their lives but decide to revolt against the Empire just because of its bullying vibes or pure ideological commitment to vague idea of "freedom." Nothing about anxiety over poverty, class antagonism, or even something akin to anti-colonial revolutionary sentiment that the original trilogy sometimes touches upon. This is not to mention the Rebels were bankrolled by dissatisfied and scheming old aristocrats and self-interested bankers. All the major characters of the social and political elites outside of the imperial bureaucracy itself are associated with the Rebels, not the Empire. The Rebellion has more in common with all the CIA backed Color Revolutions than any real popular revolution.
