@VanLathan Lowest a stock can go is zero, so the most you can lose is what you invest. For a short, you lose when the stock goes up. And there isn’t a limit to how high it can go

@KVanValkenburg To me it seems that part of the solution is to let people know exactly what was said. I think the “it was worse than you think” allows people that support it to argue it’s hyperbole and play the “it’s always like this” card.

If anything, the abuse was worse than what the media can convey because if we can't repeat what was actually being shouted.
Ben Coley@BenColeyGolf
Over the next two years, what will happen is we’ll hear more and more about how the worst of the crowd abuse at Bethpage was overblown by the European media. It wasn’t, but that’s what will happen. I’m glad Rory said we’ll be telling our fans that isn’t acceptable at Adare Manor.

@mattyglesias Town we live in has essentially two types of home. New, small, and a high price, or older, massive and extremely expensive.

@acaseofthegolf1 This was the front 9 of the guy I plays with at the Mid Am qualifier yesterday. USGA pulled him off the course on 11.

English

@BrendanPorath I know this is the launch day, but having members of other teams show up when they aren’t playing really doesn’t make any sense in any other sport.
English

@mattyglesias Bogle said before he died that the concentration was already a problem. I think the larger divergence of opinion comes on what the solution is. It’s hard, cause index investing is clearly good as it gets more households exposure to equity markets.

@jacasiegel We were able to do an elopement in a place that we couldn’t do a normal celebration (Rocky Mountain national park) and got amazing pictures. I probably wouldn’t have changed anything. We still did a small ceremony later for family and friends.
English

@swiftiejess97 I left my seat in 525 after Karma and didn’t run but headed straight there, and it took 90 mins to be stepping on a tube. I know others waited a lot longer

@marcodelro My YouTube TV only has T2. Is tennis channel a separate package?

@Mike_kim714 @NathanCHubbard @davidchang I think it’s pan fried Krispy Kreme. He has talked about it on some other shows

@yiqinfu @florianederer @jt_kerwin @BarryNalebuff @CliffordAsness A recent JFE by the other authors mentioned in the article shows just that idea. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Should you put all your savings into stocks?
@BarryNalebuff & Ian Ayres: Yes, with leverage!
@CliffordAsness: No!

@shanebacon I was playing in a college even with Rafa Campos. He was about 15yrds ahead of me and 30yrds left. The shank went about 20 feet over his head, and caught him a tad off guard.
English

@samesfandiari The Poole issue seems just a closely tied to the vet accountability, as its a point on its own. Getting punched and the org not doing a thing about it.
English

@VanLathan Any chance it was him panicking after a low/bad snap?
English

@JamesSurowiecki Before he died Bogel himself admitted the voting problem and concentration is a massive issue. Agree it’s a dumb tweet, but the point is about voting. Which is an issue.
English

@ChrisPhelanEcon SPY also practices mirror voting. So they don’t effect outcomes
English

@ChrisPhelanEcon They do, there is mixed evidence on their effectiveness. But, if the alternative is pass through voting to individuals, then there would be very little governance of a firm, as only roughly 30% of retail investors vote their shares.
English

Question for my economist and finance friends: Do index fund managers vote their shares? If they do, then there might actually be something to this since there is a temptation to do so for goals other than acting in the interest of the fund's shareholders.
Bernie Sanders@BernieSanders
This is what oligarchy is about. Today just 3 Wall Street firms, BlackRock, Vanguard & State Street manage $20.7 trillion in assets. These 3 firms are major shareholders in 95% of S&P 500 companies. Democracy will not survive with this concentration of economic & political power.
