The moon had been secretive, almost #illusive as it hid behind dark clouds. Shay and Gage ducked down and looked below where the Field Lights were feasting on the sweet evening grasses. They were pulsing softly, while they ate. It was said that if you caught one, they might grant you a wish.
As one they swooped down, and all of them took flight at once. They were every color imaginable. They filled the night sky. It was too much. They felt as if their hearts would burst. They leapt together and caught a red one. Carefully, each holding one wing, they took a closer look.
It was a tiny humanoid creature, with antennae. Its head was swiveling from side to side, eyeing its captors. It was impossible to know what was going on in that tiny little brain. They glanced at each other and closed their eyes. And maybe they wished for the same thing.
Then they set it free.
