What a lovely time lifting each other up in gr 4 today! In the spirit of love & friendship, Ss wrote compliments to each other en Français. We looked at les adjectifs both in masculine & feminine forms. Always one of my fav activities. Smiles all around 🥰 @piustitans @BHNFrench

What perfect timing for a reward day! Grade 5s worked hard to fill up their star jar just in time for our latest dumping of la neige…so much fun had by all ❄️ Stay tuned for some snowy Carnaval themed fun to come! @BHNFrench @piustitans

One picture leads to SO many conversations en Français! Ss looked at shopping lists, signage, people and prices all in one conversation. Gr 4s were very curious about how the prices were written - can’t wait to delve into it even more tm! @BHNFrench @piustitans

Gr 8s are exploring the world of film critics! Ss are learning how to apply adjectives to describe the feel of movies of various genres. We are working hard to move beyond the basic adjectives of ‘bon’ and ‘mauvais’ in our speaking and writing en Français. @piustitans @BHNFrench

Grade 5 and 5/6 made predictions today about Carnaval de Québec. Looking forward to some wintery fun ahead! @BHNFrench @piustitans

Similarly, our grade 5/6s shared about the similarities and differences they share with a celebrity. Celebrities…they’re just like us sometimes! @piustitans @BHNFrench

Grade 5s presented their Pareil ou Différents PowerPoints today to the class where they compared their life to another classmates. What a great way to show how our similarities and differences all make us unique! @BHNFrench @piustitans

Ss in gr 7 have completed their hotel search for their Francophone trip and now we are delving into authentic situations occurring in a hotel. Today we played Quiz Quiz Trade as an introduction to some Qs that may be asked when visiting a hotel. @BHNFrench @piustitans

Today gr 8s were introduced to their new unit “Allons au cinéma”. We brainstormed authentic situations we may navigate during this unit and kicked it off with a challenge. Can you figure out these famous movie titles en anglais? @piustitans @BHNFrench

Gr 7s have been exploring Francophone countries in small groups. Ss examined a text for les mots familiers/amis, read the text and found info about cuisine, attractions and school life in the country being explored. Today we shared our findings as a class. @BHNFrench @piustitans

Est-ce que tu as…? Grade 4s enjoyed sharing the contents of their pencil case with partners during Danse et Dis. Our focussed expressions of the week are “J’ai” and “Je n’ai pas”. “Oui, j’ai un crayon.” “Non, je n’ai pas une gomme.” @piustitans @BHNFrench

Ss in grade 6 are applying their learning of le futur proche in the creation of Fortune Tellers. It was so fun visiting students to play - apparently I’m going to eat cheese, visit the Dominican and dance at McDonalds 😂 @piustitans @BHNFrench

Flashback to earlier this month when Ss chose their “Mot de l’année” for 2025. Ss learned how to navigate a WordReference, researched possible words & wrote a goal using their chosen word. 1 word holds a lot of meaning when setting intentions for the year. @BHNFrench @piustitans

After looking at a map of the world & discussing places we have visited, gr 7s spent some time today researching Francophone regions of N & S America with a virtual scavenger hunt. Ss used key words from the text to conduct their search online for answers. @BHNFrench @piustitans

Grade 5s spent time interviewing a friend today en Français. They asked questions, recorded responses and are prepping to share what makes them “pareils” or “différent” from one another. @BHNFrench @piustitans

On écoute bien! Grade 4s played Dos à Dos to practice giving specific instructions and descriptions en français. “Qu’est-ce qu’il y a dans ton sac à dos?” “Il y a 3 grand livres”. @BHNFrench @piustitans

Grade 7s are getting ready to start our “À l’hôtel” unit where they will find themselves planning a trip to a francophone region on a budget. Today we explored some need to know vocabulary to get us started! @BHNFrench @piustitans

Grade 6s have been enjoying literacy centres in French as we explore le futur, a popular discussion when starting a new year. Bienvenue à 2025! @BHNFrench @piustitans
