“Transparency is not merely an ethical obligation but a fundamental pillar of public trust and the effectiveness of multilateral financial institutions.” With these words, @DavendranathTa, Minister of Finance of Trinidad and Tobago and President of the Board of Directors of @AgendaCAF, opened his remarks during the presentation of the 2025 Transparency Report in Lima, 🇵🇪. He described the report as a milestone in the partnership between Caribbean nations and CAF, underscoring the institution’s leadership in adopting rigorous international standards and improving access to information for its collegiate bodies and the general public. Tancoo highlighted compliance with the DFI Transparency Index of Publish What You Fund and noted the progress in disclosure levels for funded projects, including improved accessibility of real-time data and stronger accountability to end beneficiaries. “For Trinidad and Tobago, this report resonates with particular force,” he stated, pointing to how CAF resources in 2025 have supported initiatives ranging from energy transition toward renewable sources to climate resilience projects protecting vulnerable coastlines. He emphasized that these efforts contribute to employment generation, economic growth, energy sovereignty, and national capacity to respond to natural disasters. The President of the Board reaffirmed his country’s commitment as a shareholder to promote even greater openness, including the integration of open data into digital platforms accessible to all citizens. “The 2025 Transparency Report is not merely a document. It is a fulfilled promise of integrity and shared progress,” he concluded, calling for continued efforts to build a transparent, inclusive, and prosperous future for the region.
