Trial data support conservative oxygenation in PICU care, but implementation must consider pulse ox accuracy, occult hypoxemia, and patient trajectory. Our editorial explores this balance. @PittCCM tp.amegroups.org/article/view/1…

@svpino The only time when it's fun for me with AI is when I use inline code editing or writing to adjust or write snippets of code. But otherwise, I am now stressed when large code is written because I have to review it, understand it, etc...

I've been writing code since 1994. I've done it in a dozen different programming languages, and 90% of the time, I haven't gotten paid for it. I write code because I love writing code first and foremost. The pay has always been a nice byproduct. Yes, the money is nice, but I *love* writing code. Unfortunately, writing code with AI takes that away for me. I appreciate that I can use these models to help me build software faster, but I don't feel any joy while doing it. When I use AI, my passion becomes simply a job. I do it because I have to, not because I want to. And that's a bummer. I have to think more about this.

@calleymeans Agreed, chronic conditions in pediatric patients needs focus (prediabetes, etc). In addition, measles is eradicable (and was eradicated in the US). No one has to die from measles, and some kids have died already. Both can be (and are) important.

@BeyondEarthside Almost anything in that list can lead to a baby's demise. - no vit K -> brain bleed - no PKU -> undiagnosed metabolic/thyroid disease leading to death - no stim -> baby doesn't breathe I do put patients first. In this case, the patient would be the baby, who I want to survive.

Walked out of @ChildrensPhila as a resident for the last time today 🥹 so much growth, so much humility and so much joy found in moments of adversity. Excited for all that lies ahead.

@JennyRuizMD @somedocs @LatinasInMed @AMP_UPHSCHOP It was absolutely a we. I wouldn’t have applied for chief without the encouragement of @JennyRuizMD and certainly wouldn’t have survived the year without her love and support (even sometimes stepping in to give residency conferences). We did it!!

Never thought an outlook outage would cripple my work life. What am I supposed to be doing? Where am I supposed to be? Who am I meeting? Who am I? Literally having an existential crisis...

@Cobratate What about folks that are excitable by good ideas or innovative things? This take deserves so much nuance.

I don’t trust excitable people. Excitable = manipulatable Play on their emotions. Get what you want. Hand me 1 million cold hard cash and tell me you’re going to give me a million more. I won’t be excited. I’d be wondering if I’ll get out of the car park alive.
