@EvaCommune exactly and Mari was debatably the least morally 'flawed' out of all of them since we never see her do anything harmful in the game, unlike most of the others
obviously she still has flaws but some people think she's genuinely evil like ???

@kelzreals @tornrush ive noticed a lot of people are subconsciously ableist toward sunny in particular (ofc others receive ableist treatment, like basil and the yandere stereotype, but that isn't *subconcious*)

- Massive reduction in the presence of women in media and television.
- Some female journalists and presenters have been forced to cover their faces on screen.
- Women's protests heavily repressed in several cities.
- Reinforced segregation between men and women in many public spaces.
- Increased difficulty in obtaining certain jobs, starting a business, or participating in political life.
- Some schools or professional training programs reserved for women have been closed.
- Restrictions on music, artistic, and cultural activities involving women.
- Heightened controls on social media and the public expression of Afghan women.

She was badly written but I love her anyway !!
More fan depictions should consider that she, a 15 year old girl, most likely had issues of her own that are worth exploring (not just her relationships with male characters)

@bsuprafan @ArlesmonVTuber the problem is that a lot of her personality is based around being "motherly" to take care of Sunny and the others, and the rest was how she and Hero were in love
there's barely anything about her individually that's shown in-game other than her being a perfectionist

2. Mari's death is the inciting incident for OMORI, so not giving her character depth means her whole purpose is to get killed for the plot (which is misogynistic)

1- her character depth comes indirectly in the form of sweetheart, there are so many parallels between her and space boyfriend and mari and Hero that i think its Fair enough
2- being a background character It's not inherently bad
