@JTNWriting 🤔 Your suggestions would be a really cool idea for another apex. Maybe like a mutated Spino or Giga? Or a mutated herbivore like a Para gone wrong would be fun to draw

@Mocha_wild_bean The original D-Rex really needed to be more asymmetrical and grotesque looking. Give it vestigial body parts and an uneven number of functional limbs. Make this thing a proper affront to god and science.

Drex redesign I did because it was just… not a strong design in my opinion. Neat concept, could have been executed a bit better and made to look more dinosaur-like. Will be doing mutadon redesign too for similar reasons

@onyx_cat27 Honestly the JPE3 DLC that recently came out gives a lot more personality and even some lore to the D. Rex which I find interesting

@Mocha_wild_bean Actual D. Rex: weird bowl headed thing with primate level intelligence and curiosity despite the horrible treatment its creators did to it This D. Rex: ANGER RAGE PAIN KILLLLLL I do like the original derpy design tho, feels more like an animal than a movie monster

@KitsunePrince09 Sorry twitter is weird on mobile lol meant to reply not make a post. You’d have to explain how it disappoints on purpose. If anything, it was a market design to push to kids (a pretty strong target audience tbf) rather than for the movie

@Mocha_wild_bean Omg, I know people don't like the design, and I appreciate what people do with this artwork, but did ANYONE stop to consider that it was made to disappoint on PURPOSE???

@Lordofdragonss0 If we got more backstory to it, I think I would find it better. It just felt like a market push design, which it really is. Art is subjective and everyone has different tastes 🙂

@Mocha_wild_bean Making it More dinosaur like make it boring. That Beluga like head is one of best aspect of the design imo.

@DevinSymbiote I guess I've been watching a lot of movies with aliens recently, but the design is very much alien inspired, and it really does show. Sure, it has some rex features, but it's perhaps the overuse of a design sadly that makes it feel unoriginal

@A_Chicken0020 I'll def post the ref sheet once it's done and colored. I actually just took the pose that the drew for the front facing side and was like this would make for a really cool pose for a peeking around the corner reference 😊

@JHorut2003 @ItsLimitBreaker Thank you! I went for some varying mutations, for this design. You can't really get a good look from the angle it's at but went for spine and jaw deformities along with extra limbs, toes, phalanges. I also wanted a skin mutation, so I went with axanthism

@vanpaleoarts Mutadon will be fun but challenging. I might make variants of it with different pterosaur species, but wanted to include more of the pteranodon aspects into the design itself, rather than the ugly giant bald vulture raptor that can fly haha

@Mocha_wild_bean I think the D rex works, but the mutadon my god... I want to see this redesign, even a blank image is going to look better.
