Good Morning America. Happy August. Let’s kick this weekend off right. I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of retired K9 Queenie. Queenie retired earlier this summer after ten years of dedicated service and had been enjoying retirement with her handler, Lt. Cody Ashmore, and his family. Throughout her career, Queenie proudly served the residents of Oklahoma City and the State of Oklahoma as a member of the Oklahoma City Fire Department K9 Team and Oklahoma Task Force One. She responded to numerous local and out of state deployments, assisting with search and rescue operations during disasters and other emergencies. We are grateful for Queenie's years of service and the contributions she made alongside her fellow responders. Our thoughts are with Lt. Ashmore, his family, and the members of the K9 Team during this difficult time. Thank you for your service, Queenie. Rest easy. 🐾🙏🏻
