Beside him stood Nandi, still and unwavering, his eyes fixed on his Lord with pure devotion. One day, a young sage arrived, eager to receive Shiva’s blessings. But seeing Shiva immersed in meditation, he grew impatient. “Why does he not respond?” the sage muttered. Nandi gently spoke, “True devotion is not in asking, but in waiting.” The sage laughed, “Waiting? For how long?” Nandi replied calmly, “As long as it takes… without doubt.” Curious, the sage decided to wait. Hours turned into days, days into weeks. Slowly, his restlessness faded. His mind became quiet, just like the mountains around him. At that very moment, Shiva opened his eyes. But instead of granting a boon immediately, he simply smiled. In that smile, the sage felt something deeper than any blessing — peace. Nandi looked at him and said, “Now you understand. When the mind becomes still, Shiva is already present.
