Honoured to get a nice shout out on the ‘Mod and Soul ‘ website. There’s not so much positivity out there nowadays but a website such as this one is a great escape from today’s grinds ! It is what it says on the tin mod, soul and so much more … soulandmod.com

A brilliant listen from Zyd. A lucky bag of treats. Subscribe to his channel if you give this a listen. Zyd has a passion & great knowledge for the music. Uplifted me no end 🎵 Especially hearing Sandie Shaw, took me back to April 1991. Fabulous❤️ @zydhockey

Ian Curtis’s last known photo wasn’t taken by a famous photographer, or in some dramatic setting. It was a simple Photo-Me booth portrait, shot inside the old Woolworths on Mill Street in Macclesfield on May 15, 1980. Just a few days before everything changed. He went there to get passport pictures ready for Joy Division’s upcoming North American tour. Terry Mason, the band’s road manager, later said Ian handed him a couple of signed copies that same day so they could be sent to the U.S. Embassy. One of those small prints resurfaced decades later and ended up at auction, where it was treated as the final image of Ian taken while he was alive. What makes the photo powerful isn’t the setting. It’s how ordinary it is. No stage lights, no Anton Corbijn shadows, no Kevin Cummins snow. Just Ian, seated in a booth, doing something practical for the band’s next chapter. A quiet moment frozen right before the end. Sometimes the most unassuming images are the ones that hit the hardest. #joydivision #IanCurtis #PostPunk

Personally I still love a DVD, but in response to hearing 'I aint got a DVD player no more' on many occasions, we took our film 'John Simons - A Modernist' onto Amazon Prime. You can rent or buy it here - amazon.co.uk/John-Simons...… Poster design : Andrew Higginbotham
