ESB is such a strange film because the more time passes since your last viewing, the stronger the feeling that your perception of it is clouded by nostalgia and that you might've overhyped it. Then you rewatch it, and the film turns out to be even better than you remembered

@w3ar3v3nom Hey I wouldn't call that silly, I had a similar experience with Endwalker and finding purpose in my life. We all connect and see what we need in the stories we read. I am sorry for your loss, but glad to hear that this story was something that helped you through that

@ModestLord @kelpyfae I’m biased. I lost my mother when DT came out, this came up, silly, but it felt like I got to say goodbye to her one last time and it was what I needed. DT is all about death, loss and remembering those who have passed. She represented a child and parent parting.

@tigerx_xmilk Maybe its not so that I dont get her purpose, but more that by that point in the story, I feel the point had been hammered home over & over again to where I'm just kind of checked out. You can only do so many touching goodbyes in a already very crowded story & have me still care.

@tigerx_xmilk Well that's rude, I gave the story a fair shot & think I did understand that it was telling me. I get it, its about loss & how we deal with it, and all the different kinds of loss. Familial loss, loss of purpose, loss of what you never had, & how refusing to let go is unhealthy -

@kelpyfae I have no strong feelings on her as a character, but like much of the DT cast I don't really see her purpose. The story just felt like we were psychologically torturing Erenville for half the expac for a payoff not even that much stronger than the goodbye with Wuk Lamat & her mom
