Hot or cold take I don't know, but I personally think the 60s & 80s-90s designs for the Chipmunks are the best ones. The live action ones look good, but something about these versions feel more charming to me. Plus, I personally kinda think they work a bit better as a cartoon.

Alvin and the Chipmunks have been owned by the Bagdasarian family for generations (Ross Bagdasarian was the original "Dave Seville") & you'd hope that would mean something, but they degrade the characters with every bad trend in animation just like any other conglomerate-owned IP

@ToonHive I always hated this series, but I'm not gonna lie it would be so much more appealing if they stuck with the original UPA/Hanna Barbera-like designs than the straight up uncanny valley CGI or AI slop like that
