In WWII, Europe was almost lost because NAZI submarines were able to sink 3500 ships carrying aid from the USA. If Greenland becomes independent and then realigns itself with China, and that is the direction, then the Atlantic Ocean won’t be secure. Northern access to the Atlantic Ocean for Russian and Chinese subs is past Greenland. Realignment with China is the direction Greenland is veering: - 2012: China's Minister of Land and Resources visited Greenland to discuss potential cooperation in mining and resources. - 2014: Greenland Minerals and Energy (GME) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with China Non-Ferrous Metal Industry’s Foreign Engineering and Construction Co. (NFC) for the development of the Kvanefjeld rare earth and uranium project. - 2014: The Isua iron ore project's exploration license was transferred to General Nice Development Ltd., a Hong Kong-based Chinese company, marking the first fully Chinese-owned mining project in Greenland. - 2015: Greenland's Minister Vittus Qujaukitsoq held discussions with Chinese companies including Sinohydro, China State Construction Engineering, and China Harbour Engineering about airport, port, hydroelectric, and mining infrastructure development. - 2016: Shenghe Resources acquired a 12.5% stake in Greenland Minerals and Energy (GME) for the Kvanefjeld uranium and rare earth project, with an option to increase to 60%. - 2017: Ironbark Zinc Ltd. appointed China Non-Ferrous Metal Industry’s Foreign Engineering and Construction Co. (NFC) to further develop the Citronen Fjord zinc and nickel mining project. - 2017: Greenland's Premier visited China to discuss infrastructure projects, including potential Chinese involvement in mining and development. - 2018: Shenghe Resources signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Greenland Minerals and Energy (GME) to lead processing and marketing of materials from the Kvanefjeld site. - 2018: State-owned China Communications Construction Company was shortlisted to build and expand airports in Nuuk, Ilulissat, and Qaqortoq, but the bid was blocked by Denmark due to security concerns. - 2019: Shenghe Resources partnered with China National Nuclear Corporation to enhance rare earth separation processes at the Kvanefjeld project, creating a subsidiary for material transfer to China. - 2019: China Communications Construction Company withdrew its bid to build airports in Nuuk and Ilulissat following international pressure. - 2021: China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) and China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) expressed interest in bidding for onshore oil and gas exploration blocks in western Greenland.

The Ghibli art style is plain, uninspired, and the actual reasons people love it is because of the quality of stories the style has been attached to, and the fluidity and details of the animations it appears in, not the style itself. I get that it has an innocent charm to it (hence the fun in depicting controversial images in it), but that does not make the style itself anything special when separated from those stories it’s been used in and the quality of animation.
