I'm surprised but grateful that Kavanagh ignored VAR's desperate attempt to find another foul. They looked at everything but overlooked the very first foul. Incredible.
AB 🚥@afcroyce
They nearly gave them a pen instead😭😭
English

@StokeyyG2 Easily holding the goalie's arm down. VAR is to get the play right and they did.
English

@TalkinBaseball_ Good. Now fire him for throwing Valdez under the bus.
English

@WildShitposter @GinoHard_ A pear sounds good right about now 👌. But that wasn't my question. My question is, is the top of the puck covered by the goaltenders skate?
English

@MoeDeann @GinoHard_ Guess we're making pear shaped pucks 😂

CHAOS IN ANAHEIM‼️
• There was NO initial call on the ice when the play was live
• The officials discussed, RULED IT A GOAL on the ice
• THEN there was a video review, NO video angle shows the puck completely across the goal line
• Situation room confirms a GOOD GOAL
ANAHEIM TAKES A 3-1 SERIES LEAD. INSANE. 🫨
English

@rzitup @verysaltydog @GinoHard_ I would give the refs more credit if they said we dont know, so NO GOAL, now lets review it.
English

@MoeDeann @verysaltydog @GinoHard_ Try to understand the rules
Ref says goal
Video doesn’t show not a goal
That’s the rules.
And now don’t say “ref didn’t see”. That’s not a rule. He did.
English

@rzitup @verysaltydog @GinoHard_ I get the rule and the rule is incorrect especially since the refs weren't around the play to be able to call it a goal. Plus if they call it a goal on the ice the video clearly shows it isn't a goal because you cant see the top of the puck which is covered by the skate.
English

@WildShitposter @GinoHard_ In this picture is the top of the puck covered by the skate of the goaltender?
English

@rzitup @verysaltydog @GinoHard_ I'm not an Oilers fan or a Ducks fan. If it happened the the Ducks my reasoning would be the same show me in the video of the play where the Oilers shot crossed the line.
English

@MoeDeann @verysaltydog @GinoHard_ Oiler fans can keep crying until they find an excuse that makes the feel better about themselves. It’s an oilers tradition.
English

@WildShitposter @GinoHard_ Show me the puck completely crossed the line.
English

@MoeDeann @GinoHard_ You have 0 idea what you're saying 😂 btw the cgi ads they put on the board sand ice take more complex algorithms than this and even incorporate what I'm talking about
English

@rzitup @verysaltydog @GinoHard_ Then the rule is incorrect. The rule should be if you can show the puck crossed the line it's a goal. If you watch the play the refs aren't even in position to call it a goal or not, based on where they were on the Ice. Incompetent officiating.
English

@MoeDeann @verysaltydog @GinoHard_ Hey dummy, the rule is the exact opposite of what you are saying. Once it is ruled a goal, the video then has to be conclusive that it is NOT a goal, which you cannot prove. Prove to me it’s NOT a goal. Use your brain.
English

@40_eltron @BizNasty2point0 Well then the rulebook is incorrect. The simplest way to conclude a goal or not is whether you can show it clearly cross the line. What tends to happen is officials called this one a goal and in another instance call a similar play, not a goal.
English

@WildShitposter @GinoHard_ But lucky for us I run into a guy that doea this for a living.
English

@MoeDeann @GinoHard_ You can do that in real time extremely easily... I do it for a living you literally just have to know the radius of the puck, and the resolution of your camera and you'll have your answer
English

@WildShitposter @GinoHard_ Resolution doesn't matter. You'd have to be able to know if the size of the picture is accurately reflected in its size. If I show you a small pebble zoomed in you could think it's a large stone. So you cant measure that correctly.
English

@verysaltydog @GinoHard_ If they huddled for so long. They clearly cannot know if it was a goal on the ice. But let's apply the rule as it should be. Even if they say Goal, fair enough. Now on the video show me it was a goal. They cannot, so, No Goal. The rule should be simple, so it always saves you.
English

@MoeDeann @GinoHard_ You’re applying the burden of proof incorrectly here, it was deemed a goal before going to review
English

@verysaltydog @GinoHard_ The rule in principle has to be clear and concise. You have to show the puck clearly crossed the line for it to be a goal. The skate blocks the puck, No Goal. This way in a less clear situation the rule saves the day because it is always adhered to in the same manner.
English

@MoeDeann @GinoHard_ There is literally visual proof, you just need to extrapolate a very simple projection. By your logic, is a shooting caught on camera sufficient proof if you can’t slow the footage down sufficiently to be able to visually track the bullet the entire way?
English
