@theshirtsearch @kvlmason Well, we were denied the equaliser against Arsenal because Trossard fouling Pablo & pushing him into Raya was deemed as happening before the ball was in play too. The refs are equally as bad to us, bar those going for the title.

Sorry to get all rules police here but. On the penalty that Spurs were (yet again) not given. When Cucurella bundles Van de Ven to the ground (for which a foul was given - which in the area means penalty) the ball was in play. The rule is: the ball is in play once it is kicked..

@theshirtsearch @kvlmason No, it proves he was already on the ground. Imagine having such a lack of faith in your team getting a single point at home to stay up in the final game, you have to argue for a penalty for a player lying on the ground from a foul made when the ball was out of play 😂

@theshirtsearch @kvlmason Fortunately one of your fans shared this screenshot with me which shows Cucurella had both hands planted on the ground. Not a rugby tackle by this point. It would have been a penalty 100% if van de Ven had stayed on his feet for a second longer.

Maybe that is one way to stop these ridiculous scenes at corners or other set pieces. Start penalising players (and giving penalties) whether the ball is in play or not. Totally out of hand now. bbc.co.uk/sport/football…

@BHardman @philmcnulty So you want VAR to spend more time when a goal is scored from a corner checking in minute detail if one of half a dozen players is leaning or standing in the 6 yard box?

@philmcnulty Surely the best solution is to not allow anyone (x keeper) in the 6 yard box at the moment a corner is taken - this would encourage more creative play?

@paddy_griffiths @kvlmason It didn't continue when the ball was in play. He was hitting the ground. The foul had finished. When do you think a grappling offence finishes? When the fouled player has lost control of his legs and hitting the ground maybe? 🙄
