@HQNigerianArmy 💔💔June 13 was circled on the calendar.
A wedding was waiting.
A future was waiting.
But the battlefield wrote a different story.
Lieutenant Abdullahi Ismail Chafe never made it home. 💔🕊️
🪖🇳🇬REST WELL WARRIOR 🕊️ 🇳🇬

@DefenseNigeria How come no news about my brother lt AI chafe who died on Saturday serving the nation they system fails him the least we can do is to make sure it makes it to the news

Nigeria should be worried. Niger once served as a critical security buffer for Nigeria against Sahelian militants. That buffer is currently failing. On May 14, JNIM militants overran a Nigerien military base, killing 26 people.
Sahelian states such as Mali and Niger lack the resources and manpower needed to halt the advance of groups like JNIM. Nigeria is in a very vulnerable position geographically. If these countries were to collapse, we should expect waves of fighters to spill into Nigeria from the Sahel. The borders are porous, so JNIM fighters would face few obstacles infiltrating northern Nigeria.
The group is already trying to set up staging bases in places like Kebbi and Sokoto. Nigeria may need to explore a framework for striking JNIM positions across the border, particularly in Niger, leveraging its stronger air power and more robust ISR capabilities. Nigeria's window to prevent a full scale Sahel spillover is narrowing.

We must ask: What is President @officialABAT doing as Commander-in-Chief to decisively halt these ambush patterns? What are the concrete strategies from the Minister of Defence @Christophermusa, @Bellomatawalle1 @DHQNigeria to stop our soldiers from being sitting ducks?
English

@HQNigerianArmy The continuous killing of dedicated military officers in the North-West must be questioned. Yesterday's ambush in Sokoto that took the life of Lt A.I Chafe highlights critical gaps in our tactical intelligence. What is the government doing to protect our soldiers?
English

It is not enough to issue condolence statements or celebrate isolated successes when strategic intelligence gaps keep costing us our finest men The leadership must account for the heavy toll being paid by both senior officers and troops on the ground We demand answers@NuhuRibadu
English

@MANSURSADIQ01 May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace we lost a true soldier 💔
English

@Rise_Forge It is the saddest news and the @HQNigerianArmy won't post anything about it l

Until today, i never knew this guy or come across him, but the news of his tragic passing is really heartbroken; Lieutenant Abdullahi isma’il Chafe, former Amir of MSSN NDA who was among the soldiers that lost their life in a military ambush yesterday in Sokoto. He passed away a month before his marriage… 🥲💔
May Allah grant him peace, and all other soldiers who lost their lives in line to protect Nigeria 🇳🇬 🙏🏼
