Something about my daughter Betty is that she has fantastic reactions when receiving gifts. For example, a couple weeks ago she turned 17 and this was her reaction to a random present — a string of strawberry-shaped lights.

We were bussed from Topanga to Woodland Hills for junior high. Every girl had to open her towel after her daily mandatory shower. The teacher had a monthly chart for every girl. For four days a month we could keep on our underpants.

Last night Po, my lil’ bro who has congenital heart disease and cerebral palsy, called me four times when I was studying for my last shelf exam in med school. When I saw the missed calls I called him back right away.

@shermanelis I had one of those toddlers. It’s tough. We put a LOT of miles on the car in those years. But the third one took two three-hour naps. Evens out?

I really need to talk to other parents w/ toddlers who hardly ever slept, who had to FIGHT and wrestle to get even a 40 minute nap, who dreaded bedtime because it was always an epic struggle. Because I am at my wits end here folks (this is not a post asking for advice)
