Australia does not have a national postdoc scheme. @arc_gov_au Aust Postdoc Fellowship (APD) ended in 2011. DECRA replaced it, but few recent PhDs apply. APD was for PhDs < 3 yrs exp. 110 grants for 3 yrs. ARC also targeted 15% Discovery $ to "ECR-only" projects (< 5 yrs PhD) 1/n

over the last 5-7 years i noticed that the best professional staff within universities leave/change jobs, but those that dont do much - just stay on and on and on.... admin is the oil of our enginer - why cant we keep the best of them??? #frustrating.

Sometimes, you read something that makes you realise all the hard work is worth it…. After my outreach presentations to year 4s last week, I got a letter from my daughters classmate. She’s asking me advice about her career choices at aged 10! So sweet! 🥰
