@MonaghanFergal @jhealyq The same could be said in poor fertility years ever before sexed arrive. 5 years using sexed and only one year would I say I wasn’t happy with fertility performance vs conventional

Was strongly thinking of going all conventional semen this year to cut costs a touch but... seeing as this little man is our 15th bull calf out of 19 births that plan goes out the window 🙄🙄🫣. Just as well they're actually worth something this year! 66 calved 43 to go💪💪

@Walsh50Brendan @jhealyq Maybe, or is it a case of perhaps lower conception rate/ lost DIM/ Longer Calving interval?

@jhealyq Possibly make more money on the extra beef calves than the saving you’d make on the sexed straws?

Time for evening milking. Cows driving on nicely at 2.15 kgms. Just over 24.5 litres at 4.6 f and 3.9 p. Off to UK in the morning for a couple of days of farm visits and a show with some farmers from around the country. Looking forward to it. Good relief milker = peace of mind💪

Red clover say the 4th of may coming very patchy, clover itself seems to be coming everywhere but grass is slow, got first rain last Friday, very dry ground, will it come? 🤔

@tommywalsh1010 Cows in full time here since last Friday , place is saturated , another washout today, need this good weather to come and stay or else facing into a very long winter

Hard to believe we still need a lot more rain in these parts but I’m afraid we are not going to get it . Cows on 6 kgs silage 5 kg nuts and the rest grass . Farm cover around 500 with growth starting to recover . Production going okay staying over 2 kgms
