Today we spent the day with 50+ juveniles at Gulu Remand Home. We sang, danced, acted, ate, and laughed. Because what is Christmas without joy?. These are our children many of whom will spend the holidays in detention. Grateful to our partners & an electric performance by Kamau.

Today, we paused—not for others, but for ourselves. A refreshing Staff Training & Wellness Check-In at Skylark Park gave us space to breathe, reflect, and reconnect. We were reminded that mental health matters even for changemakers. We are stepping into July as healed healers 💚

My manager had brought on a new employee who had never laid eyes on me before. So, when I showed up one day dressed casually in flip-flops, a vest, and shorts, this staff member greeted me warmly and said, "Sir, we don’t usually allow slippers here, but since it’s your first time and you’re unfamiliar with our policy, I’ll let it slide and serve you. Next time, though, please wear proper open-toed shoes or sneakers." I took a seat, and she attended to me. Later, when my colleagues informed her that I was actually the director, she was stunned and grew shy. When I called her over, I gave her a $10 tip to commend her for being diligent and upholding the rules.
