🧵 Can memory influence what and how much we eat? Short answer is yes! Memory is often overlooked as a key driver of food intake, but a research team at Monell just uncovered neurons that encode memories of sugar and fat, shaping feeding behavior and metabolic health.

The eight-week paid summer experience will run from Monday, June 23, 2025 to Friday, August 15, 2025.

For over 40 years, this program has worked to provide students who are traditionally underrepresented on research teams the opportunity to work alongside scientists so that they can explore research as a career choice.

Across all groups, foods described as having texture contrasts were mentioned twice as often in a positive context. However, it turns out Singaporean and Polish participants placed greater importance on foods with multiple textures compared to Americans.
