Hiring another sales rep won't fix a broken top of funnel. You're just adding a second person to do two full-time jobs instead of one. The prospecting still won't happen. The research still won't happen. The follow-up still won't happen. The problem isn't headcount. It's that opening major accounts in 2026 requires a dedicated function, not a side task tacked onto a closer's calendar. More reps doesn't equal more pipeline. It equals more payroll.
