Kenya Power paid HY 2026 interim dividend on Thursday and Friday. Ziidi Trader is yet to distribute the interim dividend for Kenya Power shares bought via its platform.
Interesting that NSE equities market, with a turnover of Kshs. 145.4 billion, generated fees of Kshs. 348 million, while the bond market—despite a turnover of Kshs. 2.71 trillion, 18.6 times higher—generated only Kshs. 298 million or roughly 85% of the equities’ transaction levy.
With the exception of Equity, banks’ FY 2025 results have been largely unimpressive—unsurprising given the low interest rate environment.
For most banks, net income would have been significantly lower minus the sharp decline in interest expenses and or lower loan loss provisions
@kasiva_mutisya 💯. What sets Equity apart is that it was able to grow both its interest income and non-interest income.
But like all other banks, net income was boosted by significantly lower interest expenses (-24%), lower loan loss provisions (-28%) and lower other expenses (-10%).

HIS REAL name is Peter. He is my follower but I met him last night for the first time, having been referred to me by Wairua Kireru.
Peter is a businessman in Mavoko, Machakos County. On July 22 last year, something strange happened to him and has been his nightmare for exactly seven months to date.
Peter was busy at his business premises when, at around 3pm, a message popped up on his phone from nowhere. He has Fulizad Ksh73,691. He must have thought it was one of those messages that come from cons.
Ok let me fast-forward. He did not see that Fuliza message immediately. The message he actually saw immediately, came at 4.08pm. It was an Mpesa message indicating he had just sent Ksh3,100 to one FAITH BETTY MWENDE (see screenshot).
Being an official Mpesa message, it startled him. That was when he checked keenly and the bigger shocker hit him. At 3.05pm (an hour earlier) another Mpesa message had come in indicating he had sent a whooping Ksh110,800 to LUCY SYOVATA NYAMAI.
That was when he now saw the Fuliza message that has actually come before the two. Simply, his Mpesa account had been cleaned, more money Fulizad and sent to Faith and Betty.
Peter was shocked, confused...name it. How could that happen? He was reading the messages on his phone and they had come through his line. He had never applied for Fuliza biashara loan or downloaded such an app in his life. How does that happen?
As obvious, immediate action, he called Safaricom PLC and demanded to know what was happening. Safaricom broke the news that everyone gets, "all the money had been withdrawn" His nightmare started. Tge worst was yet to come.
As this was happening to his line, a similar attack was happening to his business Till line.
(To be continued on this post shortly)
Peter was asked to first report the matter to police. He went to Athi River Police Station in Mavoko and reported at 6.20pm and was issued with an OB 98/22/07/2025. "Investigations" started.
As he left the police station, Peter received another message on the same line that the PIN for his Business Till, had been changed and he was given the new PIN. What!! It was now past 7pm. He called Safaricom again.
A gentleman at the customer care asked him why he was inquiring, yet a short while ago, he (Peter) had called Safaricom requesting for change of PIN? He had called using a different line, given them his credentials, operation ID, year of birth... Safaricom had then blocked the Till and sent him the new PIN.
Peter was shocked beyond words. He had not made any call to Safaricom asking for change of PIN for his business TILL. He called his workers and they confirmed that true, their customers had been having problems sending money to the Till. Peter felt how Bush felt when he was told of the Twin-towers attack.
The worst was yet to come.

The following day, July 23rd Peter called Safaricom again. He was asked to write an email explaining what happened. Safaricom then wrote back informing him that the matter had been escalated to their fraud team.
Later in the day, he visited the Safaricom Centre in Kitengela Town and talked to the manager. They wrote another complaint to their fraud team attaching the OB number. What kept bothering him was that there was no sim-swap and no change of handset. How could such transactions happen?.
On August 25, he received a message from Safaricom informing him that they had received his complaint and asked him to report to report to law enforcement agency. (See the message screenshot)
Then came November 13th...
(To be continued here shortly)
On November 13, Peter received a message from KCB. It was asking him to clear a loan of Ksh81,042, the Fuliza loan. From that day, he began what has been his daily occupation - going to or calling Safaricom, KCB, back to Safaricom, back to KCB, to Athi River Police Station... trying to move the case and investigations...no help.
Did I say the worst was on the way?
