@ElijahSchaffer You are answering your own question. Do they look like they are highly skilled and could enter US using H1B? You need more vetted H1Bs precisely to avoid this situation.

@gaughen Assuming he wants to terminate or suspend the constitution, how might he go about it? Does a president have that authority without the consent of the house and senate? Just curious if this can actually happen or is this just rhetoric.

People have been asking, so I'll answer: what do I think of Kamala Harris? I think she fucking sucks. She's a DEI dingbat and a closeted socialist. Her behavior as a prosecutor was sociopathic. However (BIG however), Trump has explicitly stated he wants to terminate or suspend the Constitution. That is just 1000% unacceptable to me. What he has verbatim pledged to do is considerably worse that whatever monster Harris *might* turn out to be. So, I'm going to hold my nose and eat the shit sandwich by voting Democrat for the first time in my life. My thinking is, we can undo the damage from 4 years of Harris. Heck, we may even be able to hold her in check by electing a GOP congress so the gridlock keeps both sides from getting anything done. But we will never be able to undo the sort of damage Trump wants to inflict. Once we've strayed too far from the Constitution's limits on state power, it will become a meaningless piece of paper and we'll never go back to any concept of restrained government. And the Supreme Court's ruling - issued by judges that Trump himself appointed - that a president has almost no accountability whatsoever just dumps gasoline on the uncontrolled fire of authoritarianism. Now, more than ever, character matters - because in the absence of any other legal restraint, the president's own character is the only goddamn thing keeping him/her from abusing us. We all watched Trump attempt a coup on Jan 6 to stay in power. He's reckless, he's dangerous, and he has no respect for our Constitution or the will of American voters. Usurping the sovereignty of the people is COMPLETELY antithetical America's founding principles, and it's not possible for him to lower taxes enough to make me overlook that. If one wants to trade one's voice in government for lower taxes, fine. Move to one of the places where that's already a reality, like the Persian Gulf states. Live under a king and pay no taxes. But don't mess up our country. The rest of us want the people to maintain ultimate authority over politicians.

Today has been so depressing. I wish more of you actually knew trans women. If you spent a lunch out with most of the ones that have medically transitioned you'd see the truth. They're innately very feminine, many are very pretty and it would be cartoonish to force them to live as men. The entire political project of dehumanizing trans people is just depressing and mean-spirited.

No, its NOT #ArundhatiRoy who should be prosecuted under UAPA. Agree or disagree with her she is a stellar voice of dissent. Instead it is those who play Hindu-Muslim politics for votes, who unleash hate-speech for power, it is THEY who commit the biggest crimes against India and are the real anti-nationals.

No, not change the meaning of woman. Rather acknowledge that gender is different than sex and the word woman includes both cis and trans. Since the mainstream media has cleverly used that technicality to support trans women stealing opportunities meant for females, the easiest way to counter them is to make women's sports FEMALE sports exclusively for those born female (cis women). Require transwomen to compete in men's and coed leagues with others born male. webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/…

Watching a fight on my TL where a Trans Rights Activist is arguing that because it is “Women’s Sports” and not “Female Sports”, it naturally means that anyone simply identifying as a “woman” is allowed to compete in the Women’s Category. See how they did that? First, change the meaning of “Woman”, and then use the historically accepted term against us. They get around the illegality simply by changing the core definitions. This is why we refuse to cede our ground on the word “Woman”. #SaveWomensSports

@melliehellie42 might work but do u really think its what trans people want? No.They want to use existing women’s restroom. If it’s a fully lockable cubicle with floor and ceiling doors, it’s neither a men’s restroom or women’s. It’s just a restroom. But trans ppl wnt to use women’s restroom.

The presidents of @Harvard, @MIT, and @Penn were all asked the following question under oath at today’s congressional hearing on antisemitism: Does calling for the genocide of Jews violate [your university’s] code of conduct or rules regarding bullying or harassment? The answers they gave reflect the profound moral bankruptcy of Presidents Gay, Magill and Kornbluth. Representative @EliseStefanik was so shocked with the answers that she asked each of them the same question over and over again, and they gave the same answers over and over again. In short, they said: It ‘depends on the context’ and ‘whether the speech turns into conduct,’ that is, actually killing Jews. This could be the most extraordinary testimony ever elicited in the Congress, certainly on the topic of genocide, which to remind us all is: “the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group” The presidents’ answers reflect the profound educational, moral and ethical failures that pervade certain of our elite educational institutions due in large part to their failed leadership. Don’t take my word for it. You must watch the following three minutes. By the end, you will be where I am. They must all resign in disgrace. If a CEO of one of our companies gave a similar answer, he or she would be toast within the hour. Why has antisemitism exploded on campus and around the world? Because of leaders like Presidents Gay, Magill and Kornbluth who believe genocide depends on the context. To think that these are the leaders of Ivy League institutions that are charged with the responsibility to educate our best and brightest. On the bright side, our congressional leaders deserve accolades for showing tremendous leadership and moral clarity in their statements, by the questions they asked, and the respectfulness with which they conducted the hearing. It was a masterclass of how our government and democracy should operate. If you have time, please watch the entire hearing. Throughout the hearing, the three behaved like hostile witnesses, exhibiting a profound disdain for the Congress with their smiles and smirks, and their outright refusal to answer basic questions with a yes or no answer.

@EdKrassen My argument against undocumented immigration is that it is undocumented which is a nicer way of say illegal immigration. Also, it makes legal immigrants who wait for 15-20 years to get a green card look like fools.

As Title 42 comes to an end, if your argument against undocumented immigration is "crime" then you aren't looking at the stats. While we hear the media often talk about how illegal immigration is leading to crime in America, if you look at the real statistics, this isn't the case. While the argument could be made that the increase in population ultimately leads to more overcrowded cities, a harder time finding jobs, etc., which ultimately leads to more crime, there is little evidence of that either. Let's look at a study conducted in Texas between 2012 and 2018, using data by the Texas Criminal Justice System. Looking at the results of this study, one could more likely conclude that immigration (undocumented and legal) could actually lead to a reduction in the crime rate in America, as opposed to an increase. The total violent crime rate between 2012 and 2018 among US-born citizens was 213.0, while the violent crime rate for legal immigrants was 185.3, and just 96.2 for undocumented immigrants. That means that these stats show US-born citizens are more than twice as likely to commit a violent crime and get caught than undocumented immigrants are. The rates for drug and property crimes are even more staggering — in favor of undocumented immigrants committing less crimes. I understand the concern with immigration, and I agree that more needs to be done, but the false narrative that immigrants are criminals or that they are leading to increased crime rates in America appears to be a false one. Fact is, you should fear a US-Citizen more than an undocumented immigrant when it comes to the odds that they will commit a crime on US soil. Does this mean there are no criminals who immigrate here? Absolutely not. I'd love to know your thoughts on this.
