The 2025 MoCo Senior Games Champions are the Sweetwater Wildcats!!

Today is the day for the annual MoCo Senior Games! Thanks to our Grand Marshall and SHS Alum Heather Lenoir Irvin, Sweetwater High for hosting this year, and JTEKT for the sponsorship! Sequoyah High was last year’s champ…who will this year’s winner be?

Due to current conditions with wildfires in Tellico Plains, Tellico Area Schools will be closed tomorrow, March 5, 2025. This includes Coker Creek, Tellico High, Jr High, and Elementary Schools, and Rural Vale. All other schools will be open and on regular schedule tomorrow.

Due to the high probability of the wet roads freezing overnight and into the morning hours tomorrow, we will be closed on Thursday, February 20th. Stay save and warm!

Due to continued predictions of winter weather in our area tomorrow, Monroe County will be joining those around us in closing on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. Truancy meetings scheduled for February 18, 2025 are rescheduled to February 26, 2025 at the same time.

Monroe County Schools will be OPEN on regular schedule, January 15, 2025. Bus riders in areas where buses do not run and drivers who are unable to get to school will not be penalized as long as we receive notification from parent/guardian. Buses will not run on these routes:

After checking road conditions and bus routes, many secondary roads remain hazardous. With below freezing temps expected tonight, we anticipate travel being too dangerous for our buses and student drivers tomorrow. Monroe County Schools will remained closed on Tues. 1/14/2025.
