Japanese bros and sisters on X, I hope you see this. Many many years ago my best friend in school was a Japanese girl who lived in Florida for a few years. When she moved here she couldn't speak English... and she looked so lonely and unhappy on the bus that I sat next to her and made a paper crane. She was very excited, and made one too. After that, we always sat together and made origami together, and then we drew pictures together as a way of communicating without words. She learned English - she started teaching me Japanese. I loved her very much! She taught me the tea ceremony (and even dressed me in a spare kimono!), introduced me to manga, took me home and made me strange foods, shared her obsession with The Sound of Music with me. But she moved home, and this was before the internet, when international mail was hard, and expensive, and we lost track of one another. But I always wondered what happened to her, and missed her. When the internet became a thing, I thought to try to find her, but I couldn't read Japanese websites, not well enough to search for her. I wonder how she is. Maybe she might read this! Her name was Takako Kamei and she lived in Kamakura, and for a while, when she was in Florida, she was my best friend. I hope she is well. I have almost none of our papers anymore, but I found a handful. I did, in fact, need more practice.❤️

@ZoticusofComana @cota12 Supermarkets in Japan sell lots of alcohol! @cota12 was looking for Buckfast in Glasgow, and some supermarkets don't sell it, maybe because it has a bad reputation. You can usually get it in small shops that sell alcohol though!

@BackYouGo @cota12 It's not my 'cosy wee world' (that isn't cosy or wee), it's the definition in the dictionary. It's not true that 'nation' means 'ethnicity' now. Plenty of people consider their nationality to be Scottish, like myself, even if the passport says 'British'. Anyone can be Scottish.

@MonsterBrunch @cota12 Maybe in yoir cosy wee world but not in the real one. There is no such thing as Scottish nationality though. For that to the case there would then need to be Scottish citizenship, which we don’t have. I think you mean, foreigners can have British passports…= not Scottish.

@BackYouGo @cota12 I don't think it's silly. It makes sense to me. Scotland is a country. People who consider themselves to have the nationality of Scotland are Scottish. In my opinion, that's all there is to it. Please note there is no upset or anger here, I am just communicating what I believe.

7 years ago today in Spain, Will Ospreay wrestled A-Kid in this outstanding match! Rated ⭐⭐⭐⭐¾ by WON.

@rabidstavros77 @TheDrainmaker That's great. That's two matches in seven years though. Let's be critical. Ospreay has had over 20 five star matches in that same time frame. And Axiom is nowhere near the main roster of WWE. Objectively, and this is no knock on him or you, his career has not gone far.

@MonsterBrunch @TheDrainmaker I dont know about that, his work with Ospreay is what got him the attention to get signed. Fraxiom is a very good tag team that gets plenty of TV time in WWE. They've two matches in NXT that got exactly the same rating from Meltzer as the Ospreay match. He's doing fine.
