Magnetic Letters Classroom Moment Seen in a Reception classroom recently: a lovely way to build excitement around learning new sounds. The teacher gradually released magnetic letters as the class progressed through the phonics sequence. When the children learned the sound d, the teacher hid the letter somewhere in the classroom. When it was discovered, it was proudly added to the magnetic board and suddenly many more words could be built. A small idea that turned a routine part of phonics into a moment of discovery.
