We are so proud of The Meridian Freedom Project students for their hard work this past summer installing 7 community gardens around our city. They learned a lot about reaping the benefits of hard work, as well as giving back to their communities.

CD is a Regional Director for AT&T Mississippi. His philanthropic and volunteer resume is lengthy. We are so very grateful for CD and the wisdom and leadership he has brought to TMI over the years.

Today for #teammembertuesday we are featuring the Chairman of our Board, Mr. CD Smith. CD has been involved with TMI since the beginning, serving as Board Chair from day one to date.

20 and 101. Today both are significant numbers. 20 years since The Montgomery Institute was founded. 101 years since Sonny Montgomery’s birth.

This letter was written in 1991 from Sonny Montgomery to the new TMI President, Beverly Knox! Neither could have known at the time but now she leads the organization tasked with promoting his legacy and upbuilding this part of the country he loved so much. #throwbackthursday
