Trump claimed that "from a military point of view, Ukraine has already lost". The US President likely confused Ukraine with Iran when he spoke about this. At first, the White House leader spoke of "Ukraine's defeat", but immediately afterwards began talking about Iran and 159 ships that "are already lying underwater".

This is a genuinely impressive way to handle the issue. There can't be a "controversy" if the President is suing himself.

Russia is mass murdering Ukrainian civilians every day. Putin is a wanted war criminal whose terrorist nation systematically kidnaps children by the thousands, tortures and rapes in occupied lands, and is now trying to hide mass graves. If Putin comes, America has fallen.

I am deeply saddened by the recent escalation of attacks against Ukraine, which continue to afflict civilians. I express my solidarity with those who are suffering and assure all the Ukrainian people of my prayers. I renew my appeal for weapons to fall silent and for the path of dialogue to be pursued.
