Really happy that I re-launched my biggest project, Pokedexus after putting a ton of work into it. Download it on Google Play Store and let me know what you think and what could be improved! #AndroidDev

Greetings trainers, a new Pokédexus update is live! From this update, you will know within the app when a new version is available, where to download it from, and what the latest changes are!

After it has been suspended from Google Play Store, Pokédexus is coming back fully functional! Here is a download link to the apk, more sites will make it available in the following days.

Super excited that my personal project @PokedexusApp which I worked on in the last 2 years is getting so popular. It got 15k+ downloads only in the last 2 weeks!
Check it out on Google Play Store and let me know what you think ;) play.google.com/store/apps/det… #AndroidDev

@stephenvinouze @PokedexusApp Thank you! I intentionally modified the app screenshots and description to try to prevent that as much as possible. Most Pokedex apps on the store don't do that so I hope It's ok.

@Moodysaache @PokedexusApp Looking good 😊 Congrats to put it online! Just out of curiosity, how does it work regarding copyright as you're using the Pokemon illustrations?
English

@SergeyKaryakin You are pathetic and a disgrace to chess players

@CatalinGhita4 What would be the alternative instead of using event bus? In larger projects I think you inevitably need some sort of publisher-subscriber mechanism.
English

Just held an #AndroidDev interview where the candidate mentioned that an event driven architecture is better than most archs out there. EventBus was mentioned 👀
What are your thoughts on this?
English

@s_anastasov Doesn't that make a memory leak in both cases? 🤨

@donnfelker The biggest Pokédex on the market, lots of features😃. Release is most likely within a couple of months
English

I asked @unclebobmartin's assistant if I can use the Clean Code book in my stream to work through it and refactor some code. They agreed to it (under some requirements). Would that be interesting for my streams or too lengthy?
English

@CatalinGhita4 @Zhuinden @iClaude1 @mrighini88 @PreusslerBerlin A bit off-topic but is modularisation by layer even correct? Those modules aren't independent and it makes harder to understand what is going on in the project in comparison to modularisation by feature.
English

@Zhuinden @iClaude1 @mrighini88 @PreusslerBerlin Its not about repos @Zhuinden 🤣 it's about having a interface inside the domain layer that the data layer implements. It could be anything if not a repo
I was asking the sole purpose of this interface for apps that are NOT modularised by layer apart from being imaginary boundry
English

@CatalinGhita4 Yeah, besides creating a fake implementation for tests I don't really see any benefit. In theory it is better to depend on abstractions but abusing interfaces without a good reason just makes the project harder to navigate in my oppinion
English

#AndroidDev say you modularise an app by feature (via package/module) and not by layer - what's the benefit of having a repository interface used by UseCases?
Maybe clean arch yeah, but if you aren't swapping different concrete impls of the interface, doesn't it mean that YAGNI?
iClaude@iClaude1
@PreusslerBerlin Domain layer depending on data layer? That's the opposite of clean architecture. I don't want to read any longer. Did they even understand clean architecture?
