⚠️ Drift Protocol just got exploited for ~$220M–$270M — one of the wildest on-chain heists in Solana DeFi history. Not a smart contract bug. Not an oracle attack. It was the admin key turned against the protocol itself. Drift = Solana’s biggest perp DEX. $550M+ TVL. $50B+ cumulative volume. Seconds later the attacker goes god-mode:Creates a fake spot market for CVT (worthless attacker-controlled token). Inflates its oracle price massively. Spams withdrawal guard changes to remove limits. Deposits fake collateral → uses Drift’s own cross-margin + swaps → drains real USDC, SOL, BTC, JLP, vaults, everything. Nearly half the TVL yanked in minutes.The drainer wallet was funded 8 days earlier via Near intents, then sat dormant. Classic sleeper move.Funds got routed through Jupiter, split into launderer wallets (some funded yesterday via Backpack), bridged via Wormhole to ETH (~19k+ ETH so far), and touched mixers + even Hyperliquid/Binance.Drift’s response: “We are observing unusual activity… do not deposit.
