50th Anniversary Of Apollo 11

50 Years Ago Today: The Apollo 11 astronauts come out of quarantine and begin their World Tour. First stop? An event in Houston to honor 400 NASA employees. One of the coolest pieces in my collection — a signed program from that event.

Happy Birthday to Neil Armstrong, who would have been 89 today. I have four of his signatures, which I greatly cherish. This one, on the New York Times from the next day, is the most valuable piece of memorabilia that I own.

If the astronauts got this deal, they would have gotten a $50,000 bonus (500,000 round trip miles).

Richard Nixon called this week 50 years ago the “Greatest Week Since Creation.”

@MoonLanding50 The simplest way to debunk that nonsense is the Soviets. Had we faked it, they would’ve been using it as propaganda non stop.

When you have people who tell you the moon landing was simulated in a studio, ask them these questions. When they entered the rocket did they ever go up? When they splashed down, when did they go up and how did they get up? The moon could have been faked. Other parts are harder.
