@BarbaraBleiman Love the title ‘Are you really reading?’ And the motivation: ‘The idea for the toolkit came about through comparing the requirements of the KS2 reading tests (Sats) with the reading requirements of GCSE English, and recognising that they are not at all similar.’

This is absolutely fascinating on improving reading at KS2/3! It focuses on thinking & understanding and what I’d call ‘big picture’ aspects of texts & reading. Simple approaches that are about ´really’ reading, not just decoding. tes.com/magazine/teach…

Getting writing right through inclusive practice’. @boltonlearnopps ⭐️reference to The Writing Framework whilst remembering it is not statutory ⭐️understanding what gives children fire in their bellies to write ⭐️identifying how complex it is to teach children to write sentences - progression ⭐️understanding that editing; revision and proof reading all need to be taught before they can be applied 🎅🏻 making NO excuses for my Christmas books- teachers need to see them in advance!
