I am not sure if anyone is going to read this, but I had to get my thoughts on Resident Evil: Requiem out of my head! @ImKatastrophe @RE_Games @CapcomEurope Honestly, this game is just something else. I was totally captivated from start to finish. I constantly found myself wanting to sprint to the next objective, but the environments/level design were so fun to explore that I couldn't help but stop and look at everything. You can really feel the love and care the team has for the history of this franchise - there are so many great call backs to previous games that were a surprise and joy to see. Grace and Leon were obviously standouts, and huge credit to @asantalbano and @Nik_apostolides for their performances - everyone brought so much power and emotion to their scenes. Nick's evolution of Leon's voice across Resident Evil 2 Remake to Resident Evil 4 Remake to now Resident Evil Requiem was incredible. Leon's older, rougher voice was perfect in Requiem. The music and sound design were also phenomenal, perfectly setting the tension and tone at every turn. The visuals are just breath taking. I’ll keep saying it, the RE Engine is just the best! As someone whose favourite game is Resident Evil 7, this really felt like home. I absolutely loved the stealth and horror focus during the parts with Grace, and then shifting over to play as Leon felt like such a perfect nod to the Resident Evil 4 Remake. It all just worked, and the pacing was spot on. I honestly think Resident Evil Requiem is now my favourite Resident Evil game. The gore was brilliant - there were moments where my jaw literally dropped at some of the death scenes. I was so invested in the story that I wanted to start a new game the moment the credits rolled. It’s been days and I still can’t get it out of my head. This game deserves every bit of praise it’s getting and all the awards coming its way. Today was an incredibly tough and emotional day. In what felt like a blink of an eye, 1 year had gone by since my dad passed away. The loss of a parent is one of the most painful experiences anyone can have. Despite understanding that this is a process that we all must go through in life, the childish side of me still wishes it weren’t a reality. A kind reminder to all: never forget to express to your loved ones how much they mean to you. Life has a peculiar way of making you believe that time is infinite, so it’s easy to think that you can save your “I love you” for tomorrow. Because of this, I have always (and will always) make it a priority to tell my family, friends, and loved ones how much I love them. I hope that if there’s anyone out there who might benefit from seeing this, that it serves as a gentle push for them to do the same. Tell your loved ones how much you love them. Don’t take for granted the time you have together. I love you so much, dad. Please continue to watch over me and guide me as you always have. I will do my best to keep making you and mom proud. ♥️
