@tsucidial on a side note the cards in your tweets are very much masc as youve said but i think it's fair then to say that the cards the person had in mind are fem, its just that generally the concept of masc andro and fem cant quite exist/be determined on their own
English

@tsucidial -that there are ones that can very much be viewed as feminine and might have also been an intentional artistic choice (eg kasa4 wl2 winter) while there are also ones that feel traditionally masculine (eg kasa5 kasa6)
English

@tsucidial it's moreso all about comparing if we just took a single card of him i don't think it would be anything but by comparing some cards to his others, cards of other male chars, his writing and what society views as masc/fem i think it's fair to say
English

@tsucidial and many of them have expressed that they view rui as more feminine (in wl2 and winter card especially) also feeling like using feminine verbs in contrast to calling him traditionally handsome making more sense if you know what i mean?
English

@tsucidial it's not about wheter or not what they think is true but rather what sega wants to express to an audience that might view it a certain way? for example when i went back to china for my gap year i talked extensively to my chinese friends who play and cosplay prsk
English

@tsucidial not his gender but his expression , if his character writing is about "its okay to be different/(what society considers)weird/whatever", it does make sense if it was shown through more aspects than one (his autism) but also through him being slightly unique in this aspect too
English

@tsucidial is important to his writing and thus it makes more sense for me to read it as more femine
English

@tsucidial - if i read his cards as masculine vs less masculine it would imply it's still masculine nontheless, which would be considered the 'societal norm', but i feel like his subtle noncomformity to said norms (and i do feel like it applies both to his autistic coding and queer coding
English

@tsucidial i get what you mean but do also keep in mind that each person can experience gender expression differently depending on their circumstances and that it's a japanese game which will understand more how the asian side of the fandom will read his character and intentionally
English

@tsucidial if you're like only strictly talking about the cards tho like if we ignore his writing and overall character design It's a bit different ofc but to me personally i feel like it's important
English

@tsucidial i saw that thread like a year ago but i could try to make one myself if youre open to at least understanding our perspective
English

@tsucidial @viohiori no it was something about him not comforming to stereotypical gender roles and this androgyny also playing a part of his queer coding
English
