What do you expect when God speaks (Acts 2:42–3:10) with Paul Grimmond.
Paul Grimmond, Vice Principal and Head of the Ministry Department at Moore Theological College, considers whether the events of the early church are a one-off or should be expected today, showing they are both extraordinary and foundational for the ongoing life of God’s people.

The 2026 Priscilla & Aquila Centre Annual Conference plenary talks are now available to watch.
In "Discipleship as new love", Simon Flinders explores Jesus’ call to reorder our deepest loves—challenging cultural assumptions about family and showing how belonging to God’s family reshapes every relationship.
In "Church as family", he turns to the New Testament vision of the church—not as an institution, but as a true family—calling us to live as brothers and sisters in Christ, marked by love, care, and shared identity.

From Sunday school classmates to a lifetime of gospel partnership, Peter and Christine Jensen’s story is deeply intertwined with the life of Moore College. Converted through the ministry of the 1959 Billy Graham Crusade, their faith was shaped through church community, theological training, and a shared commitment to proclaiming Christ.
Peter’s years at Moore College were marked by the influence of teachers such as Broughton Knox and Donald Robinson, whose commitment to Scripture shaped his lifelong ministry as a pastor, teacher, and later Archbishop of Sydney. Christine served faithfully alongside him, investing deeply in student wives, women’s ministry, and the prayer life of the College community.
Together, their ministry reflects the impact of Moore College not only in Sydney but around the world— training leaders, strengthening churches, and equipping generations to know and proclaim the Word of God.

Over the last two or three years, during Term 1, the faculty at Moore Theological College joins with student preachers in preaching through a book or part of a book of the Bible.
This year in Term 1, our chapel sermons will focus on Acts 1-10, that part of the word of the living God brought to us by Luke, a remarkable researcher and narrator. Luke takes pains to point out that the life and ministry of Jesus did not end with his resurrection; the one who healed the sick, raised the dead, and made known the purpose and heart of the true and living God is alive and at work in the world today, just as he was during the early years of his church.

From physiotherapy to gospel ministry, Melinda Sandon’s story is one of deep gratitude for God’s grace and a life anchored in Christ. After coming to faith at university and serving at St Barnabas Broadway, she studied at Moore College with her husband Nathan to prepare for mission work.
Over two decades and four children later, Melinda continues to serve faithfully alongside Nathan at Austinmer Anglican, drawing on the rich theological grounding she received at Moore to encourage others, lead Bible studies, and raise her family to know Jesus.

When Nathan Sandon first walked into church expecting judgment, he found instead the transforming love of Jesus. That love changed everything. After marrying Melinda and studying at Moore College, Nathan began a lifetime of gospel ministry—now serving as Senior Minister at Austinmer Anglican on the NSW South Coast.
Two decades on, Nathan and Melinda are helping their community see that true paradise isn’t found by the sea but in knowing Christ. With a heart for mission and training, their church continues to raise up the next generation for gospel service in Australia and beyond.

A line of prams outside the Marcus Loane Hall denoted the start of Community Chapel at College yesterday morning. Students and faculty were joined by families and staff in a time of worship together remembering through prayer, song and reading God’s word that all things come to fulfilment in and through Christ Jesus.
As Acts 7:1-19 was opened to the listeners Lionel Windsor challenged those gathered to consider where is the place for God’s people, what is our place? Our place is Jesus’ body – through his sacrifice and resurrection Jesus is the place where we meet with God. He is the place where we can place our confidence and trust.
A great reminder mid Term 1 as the College prepares for all the goodness of the Graduation event next Monday evening followed by a week of mission across Sydney, Australia and beyond.

“Be men of prayer and action.”
The twenty men who gathered to pray for the College and Diocese on Saturday at Men Praying for Moore, were encouraged by their reflection, led by Josh Apieczonek, Head of Mission, on the Old Testament prophet Nehemiah’s, example of unceasing action and prayer. Remembering the Lord’s continued faithfulness to an unfaithful people was an encouragement to pray with great thankfulness for God’s sustained grace towards each of his people and his College at Moore.
Thank you for keeping the College community in your daily prayers. Regular prayer points can be found on the College website or join in the next prayer meeting. The women’s Prayer Support Group meets this Monday 9 March and the men will meet again on 15 August. Find out more on the Events page of the College website.

To mark the 170th anniversary of Moore Theological College, we’re sharing two special episodes of Moore in the Word drawn from the 2025 Donald Robinson Library lectures on “The Clapham Sect and their influence on Sydney.”
In the first episode, Mark Thompson introduces us to Richard Johnson, the first chaplain to the fledgling colony in New South Wales. Through personal letters and historical records, Mark traces Johnson’s courage amid hardship and his lasting contribution to the spiritual foundations of Christian witness in early Australia.
In the companion episode, Michael Gladwin explores the life and influence of John Newton—former slave trader turned pastor, author of Amazing Grace, and key architect and encourager of the first Anglican mission in Australia. Through Newton’s correspondence and networks, we see how his theological depth, pastoral wisdom and missionary vision helped shape the emergence of evangelical Anglicanism in the Southern Hemisphere.
Together, these lectures trace the personal convictions, partnerships and gospel ambition that linked the Clapham network in England to the beginnings of Anglican ministry in Australia. As we give thanks for 170 years of God’s faithfulness to Moore, these episodes remind us that today’s ministry stands on foundations laid through prayer, perseverance and a deep confidence in God’s word.
Listen to both episodes and explore how the gospel took root in this land—and how its legacy continues to shape ministry into all the world.

We’re pleased to share a new five-episode series on Moore in the Word, a compilation of the 2025 Annual Moore College Lectures: A Biblical Theology of Faith with Peter Orr.
Across the series, Dr Orr traces the theme of faith through the whole Bible — from its Old Testament foundations in Abraham, the Law, the Prophets and the Psalms, to the faith of Jesus himself, and on to Hebrews, James and Revelation. Faith is presented not as a vague religious sentiment, but as relational trust in God’s word and character, expressed in obedience, perseverance and steadfast loyalty to Christ.
These five episodes offer a cohesive and compelling vision of faith across the biblical story — inviting us to deeper confidence in the God who speaks, promises and remains faithful.

Mark Earngey recent preached at the Men @ Glen conference held in Glen Innes, NSW. This men's conference brings good Bible teaching and fellowship to region of North West NSW and Southern QLD; from Tenterfield to Tamworth, and Barabba to Brisbane.
Mark unpacked the Bible's teaching on God's grace, God's gift of faith, and God's written word. "I thoroughly enjoyed opening up the Scriptures with these men," said Rev. Earngey, "and it was a real delight to share fellowship with new brothers and to spend time with former Moore College students now in ordained ministry."

The Moore College learning experience is deeply relational, and aims for nothing less than transformation. We believe face-to-face ministry requires face-to-face preparation, and so we foster a strong, supportive environment, where students grow in character, resilience, and commitment. In fact, 98% of students who begin at Moore leave with the degree they set out to complete.
