Former Kariba District Development Co-ordinator (DDC), Desmond Anele Gumbochuma is the new Director of Administration for Zvishavane Town Council. What is probably more important about this move is not the appointment but the red flag it raises for Government to seriously reflect on salaries and work conditions in Civil Service today. Instead of rising up the ladder to a Provincial Director or a Departmental Director in the Ministry of Local Government, Anele who has not only been DDC for Kariba but for Shurugwi and Zvimba has elected to take up a junior position; three grades lower at a local authority to escape slave wages in Government. In a Government where skills matter and are considered critical, a development like this should have prompted an emergency meeting and serious review of Government conditions of work to retain staff. The DDC position is the highest in a district. Council CEOs and town secretaries report to that office. Ironically Anele is now reporting to an office that reports to an office that he used to occupy. Zimbabwe must look at the Chinese system (which we partly have) of Meritocracy which has proved to be best in the World for development. Through this system, leaders are tested and rise through every level until they get to the top. What we see here is ragtag and a precipe for Governance disaster. Our judiciary is broken. The officers are either handing down political judgments or pandering to those who can grease their palms. If indeed a child was infected with a STI then she was definitely raped. The wailing of this helpless mother should speak to our collective conscience. This crisis will not go away on its own. The Judiciary has to be reformed. Unfortunately ZANU PF has proven that it has no capacity to reform. The urgency of now is to demand the dissolution of government and institution of a NTA to reform State institutions. We can’t afford to sleep walk into another rigged election. #NTAnow

Prudence Mazviita Sauriri is an Education Human Rights Defender, (EHRD). She was arrested on 01 July 2025. Her crime was reminding the government of Emerson of the obligation to provide State funded basic education as prescribed in section 75 of the constitution. Prudence joined other EHRD in Mutare in a protest raising alarm on the almost 3 million prospective learners who are out of school among other issues. At a time when government departments are spending over USD 190 000 on a Hp laptop we have learners who just need USD 20 to be in class. Emerson promised State funded education but greed has consumed him. National resources are now channeled towards the luxuries of Zvigananda while our children continue to lose out on the right to education. Communities are angered that innocent children are now resorting to drugs as they can’t access education. When such communities rise demanding right to education for our children they are arrested. Prudence was denied bail by a Mutare magistrate. She was remanded in custody and will appear in Court on 15 July 2025. This is another reminder that we can’t afford to wait for another rigged election in 2028. Emerson’s government has dismally failed and it must be dissolved now! We demand institution of a NTA to reform our state institutions and prepare Zimbabwe for free and fair elections in 2028. #NTAnow

If you take an in-depth look into your current or past relationships, you might notice that you tend to display the same kind of behavior in all your relationships.

This is why it is imperative and important that one WORKS THROUGH THEIR TRAUMA, in order to function how you should be. Trauma doesn't magically correct itself unfortunately.
