Archie Roberts played a career-low 77 minutes last night. He led the Bombers for total minutes played in 2025.
Close to 40 minutes on the bench for Darcy Parish and over 35 for Jye Caldwell.

@MoreirasMagic I’m not sure how to take it that my Thursday Scramble on @DTTalk was attributed to @CalvinDT in your podcast today? Is it a compliment or an insult? Ha Ha.
Love your work Selby, great as always!

‘Oh no my print ad is getting a free run on television too. I am outraged’
Dan Gorringe@GorringeDaniel
Old media spent a week telling everyone how outraged they were at DDF for playing a voice note. Then they emailed our Footy Record ad around the office and leaked it on national TV a day early. Tough week for consistency

This is sad.
Draft Doctors has been an absolute pleasure to listen to across the last decade. Funny, insightful, trailblazers, unique … in all the forms from Jono to adding Statesman, Cam and Dossy for 5 mins.
Thank you, Steve.

Shattering news this morning for all in the football community.
The great Dennis Cometti has passed away, after batting illness. Aged 76.
The greatest caller our game has seen, a true icon.
Dennis was not only brilliant, but thoughtful and generous toward all those lucky enough to be in his presence.
Devastating, and thoughts with his family, and many friends, fans.

With the PS now done, here are the main things I'm trying to decide on wrt my starting side:
1. McAndrew R2 or R3? And if he's R3, who to put at R2?
2. Which Premium DEF should I go with? Rozee, Sinclair, Whitfield? Considering going with 0-2.
3. Depending on what I do above, which high end MPer type should I YOLO into with the hope they become a Premium? Roberts, McCarthy, Rivers, Bergman? Considering going with 0-2.
4. Which cheap MPer types should I go with and hope they can go 80ish till the byes. Windsor, Bice, FOS, Kiddy, Johnson. Or should I instead play Blakiston at D5 and play a rook at D6?
5. Which MPer mid should I go with? Sheldrick, Lindsay, Rowston, Bruhn? Considering 0-2.
7. To Sheez or not Sheez?
8. Which FWD MPer to go with? Can prob fit one of Rachele, CMac, Reid, Budarick, Williams.
What are your current dilemmas?

Okay the ruck infringement is almost as annoying as the recall
Moreira’s Magic@MoreirasMagic
I was a fan of the bounce, but gee it’s nice watching a ball-up knowing it’s not going to be recalled

𝗔𝗙𝗟 𝗙𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝟮𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 - 𝗠𝗲𝗹𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲 𝘃𝘀 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗱 📝
Game only lasted for just over two quarters due to lightning, so the scores were lower, but we were still able to get some takeaways.
𝗠𝗲𝗹𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲
Melbourne ran six players through the midfield, 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗯 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗼𝗿, 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗲, 𝗞𝗼𝘀𝗶 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘁 and 𝗧𝗼𝗺 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄 all having between 47-58% CBA's, plus 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘆 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱 got just under 30% CBA's.
𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗲 ($𝟭.𝟬𝟬𝟲𝗺 𝗠𝗜𝗗) - 𝟲𝟮 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀
Looked great out there once again as one of the main midfielders for Melbourne. I've been keen all preseason, and today just reinforced my confidence.
𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗯 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗼𝗿 ($𝟱𝟲𝟱𝗸 𝗗𝗘𝗙) - 𝟱𝟲 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀
Was very impressive and one of the standouts today. After struggling last week, he was always involved in Melbourne chains, and had the most CBA's for Melbourne. But I'm not sure if last week or this week was a better representation of what he'll be. One to consider at a cheaper price.
𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 ($𝟴𝟲𝟱𝗸 𝗗𝗘𝗙) - 𝟱𝟲 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀
Had the most CBA's for Melbourne and when he wasn't in the midfield, he was at half back. Love the role and with a few defender options going down, I'm interested.
𝗫𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗮𝘆 ($𝟱𝟱𝟬𝗸 𝗠𝗜𝗗) - 𝟰𝟱 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀
Solid score in the two and a bit quarters of the game. The most impressive thing was he had the most kick ins for Melbourne with four, with Salem and Jiath taking one each. If that is what it will be like in the season, I'm interested.
𝗠𝗮𝘅 𝗚𝗮𝘄𝗻 ($𝟭.𝟭𝟴𝟴𝗺 𝗥𝗨𝗖) - 𝟰𝟯 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀
Solid in the ruck and if any ruck can adapt to rule changes, it's Gawn. However, his expensive price and another year older, I won't start him.
𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗺 ($𝟵𝟳𝟱𝗸 𝗗𝗘𝗙) - 𝟱𝟬 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀
Solid score, but with the interrupted preseason, I'll fade to start with. Lindsay taking most of the kick ins will eat a bit into the upside we thought Salem had, plus a few other names have popped up in the defence that will share points.
𝗛𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘆 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱 ($𝟲𝟱𝟴𝗸 𝗠𝗜𝗗) - 𝟯𝟴 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀
Played a mix between midfield and wing, but seems to be the 5-6th mid. Probably a fade to start.
𝗞𝘆𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗮𝗵 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘁 ($𝟵𝟭𝟱𝗸 𝗠𝗜𝗗/𝗙𝗪𝗗) - 𝟱𝟬 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀
Another solid outing for Kosi. Could have been even bigger if he kicked straight. Not sure I'll start him, but no early bye will mean some start him.
𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗸𝘂𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗝𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗵 ($𝟱𝟲𝟯𝗸 𝗗𝗘𝗙) - 𝟱𝟭 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀
Solid today and had a solid score. I really wanted to watch another quarter to get a gauge on which Melbourne defender is the pick. One I probably wouldn't start, but could present as an option.
𝗟𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘁 ($𝟯𝟬𝟲𝗸 𝗙𝗪𝗗) - 𝟮𝟲 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀
A bit quieter today compared to last week. Going to be an exciting player to watch, but will be more impact this season. I have other rookie options ahead of him.
𝗫𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗮𝘆𝗹𝗼𝗿 ($𝟯𝟭𝟬𝗸 𝗗𝗘𝗙) didn't get any gametime today. Likely won't be there in Round 1, but could be a downgrade target at some point for us.
𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗱
Richmond ran a tight four man midfield mix, 𝗦𝗮𝗺 𝗟𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗿, 𝗧𝗶𝗺 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗼, 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗼𝗯 𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗿 and 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝘀.
𝗦𝗮𝗺 𝗚𝗿𝗹𝗷 ($𝟯𝟮𝟮𝗸 𝗗𝗘𝗙/𝗠𝗜𝗗) - 𝟯𝟵 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀
Another impressive outing from the high draft pick. I think he is a lock for our teams, and a very good option on field.
𝗦𝗮𝗺 𝗟𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗿 ($𝟱𝟲𝟳𝗸 𝗙𝗪𝗗) - 𝟰𝟮 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀
A lot more involved today, and even had the equal most CBA's alongside Taranto. With Hotton and now Cumming injured, that could open up more opportunity for Lalor in the midfield. One to consider as a forward option.
𝗦𝗮𝗺 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀 ($𝟴𝟯𝟭𝗸 𝗗𝗘𝗙) - 𝟱𝟬 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀
Back in the team after missing last week. Had a solid game, but Short was still heavily involved and Grlj has been impressive, which I think eats into Banks' upside.
𝗦𝗮𝗺 𝗖𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 ($𝟯𝟮𝟲𝗸 𝗠𝗜𝗗) - 𝟭𝟭 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀
Unfortunately a shoulder injury ended his day early. Not sure on the extent yet, but probably rules him out as an option to start with.
𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗸𝗼 ($𝟮𝟯𝟬𝗸 𝗠𝗜𝗗) is not in the team, therefore his Round 1 chances don't look great.
