I’m spending my fall researching the evolution of developmental plasticity among Central American anoles. I’m so grateful for the support of @AmPhilSociety and the @AUMNH2 for funding this project. Thrilled to be living out this dream in the most beautiful ecosystem on earth!

A high profile journal just rejected my proposal for a review article and listed their decision criteria. One of them was “authoritativeness of the author”. It runs so counter to inclusivity in science and implies that newcomers cannot produce good science! 😫

In 8th grade my math teacher scolded me for getting problems wrong because I would mix up my handwritten 5’s and 3’s midway through questions, and now that I’m a scientist I am here to tell her yes, she was correct, data entry is a hopeless nightmare and I have many regrets
